Local albany knitting groups
There are several local knitting groups that meet regularly in our area. If you would like to learn to knit or crochet consider attending a meeting.
The Delaware Avenue Branch of the Albany Public Library “Stitch Angels”, Friday afternoons from 12:30-2:30. Most are knitters (and there's a wide range of experience) and a few are crocheters. The ladies are friendly and very welcoming. Many of them volunteer at Up-Stitch. The group leader, Jody, is willing to give a beginner lesson to anyone interested in learning. Their focus is charity knitting.
St. Vincent's de Paul Knitting Club, Sundays from 9:45am-10:45pm in the church cafeteria. Everyone is welcome regardless of religion. Marcela is familiar with Up-Stitch and is running this group.
Bethlehem Senior Services, every other Tuesday, 11pm-2pm in the Bethlehem Town Hall.
Formal lessons are not offered, but they would be happy to get you started and provide support and a community.
